Virtual Reality Era in Architecture

Bringing together the experts from all around the world in the scope of architecture, art and environment, Bezirhane Meetings continue in 2018…

Prof. Dr. Takehiko Nagakura who works on visualization of historical spaces through augmented reality technologies will honor Bezirhane Meetings together with Yıldız Technical University Architecture Department Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Derya Güleç Özer for a seminar on architectural informatics priory to their work in Göreme Open Museum and Derinkuyu and Kaymaklı Underground Cities.

Holding masters and post graduate degrees respectively from Tokyo University and Harvard Design School and currently working as a lecturer in MIT Architecture Department and Director of Architectural Design and Computation Group, Nagakura has been working on visualization of historical places for long years. Nagakura has developed interfaces like Multirama and Digitarama for virtual reality visualizations.

Prof. Dr. Nagakura visits Turkey to work on visualization projects of some architectural structures and spaces in and around Göreme Open Air Museum through photogrammetric modeling and augmented reality technologies. The aim of the project is to show what is invisible to the architects, archeologists, restorators and tourists and presenting the historical places as they were in the past using virtual reality tools.

The seminar titled ‘Design Experience: Emerging Tools, Processes and Contents’ will take place in Bezirhane on Monday, April 16, 2018, at 14:00 free of charge.
